Just Like My Cousin

Lately, Bennett has been making this face that looks like he's growling. I haven't been able to catch it on camera yet. But, I was reminded of this picture of Mattea several years ago when I was visiting and we were at the zoo. This is the face!!!

Acting just like my cousin :-)

I'm Tagged!

THE RULES: Step 1: respond and rework—answer the questions on your own blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own. Step 2: tag—eight other untagged people.

Make a list of things you can see without getting up: Unfortunately, I'm dowstairs so I'm surrounded by all the deer staring at me!

What are you wearing now? Jeans that are too big, a white shirt, and a sage green zip up hoodie

What color is your bedroom? It's khaki with burgandy feather dusted over the time. I think I'm getting ready for a change.

What’s the last thing you read/are currently reading? I am reading Multiple Blessings, the story of the Goesslin sextuplets. It's actually very good!

Do you nap a lot? These days, you can usually find me camped out on the couch and asleep by 8:30 or 9 p.m.

Who was the last person you hugged? Bennett--when I dropped his off at daycare this morning.

What’s your current obsession/addiction? Hmmm . . . I guess nothing at the moment. I haven't been very good at updating my blog lately--I haven't had time for much of anything these days :-)

What was the last thing you said aloud? I saw a colleague of mine at the store this morning and I told her to enjoy her day off today.

What Web sites do you always visit when you go online? My personal e-mail, school e-mail, blogs, and right now, the airline site to see if my tickets have miraculously gone down--no luck.

What was the last thing you bought? I bought a new outfit for Bennett to take to daycare in case of accidents and a new pair of swim trunks for him for our trip in April.

What are you listening to right now? Silence.

What is something you wish you could do more? Hang out with friends and loved ones. There's just not enough time in the day!

What gives you hope? A new day to make a fresh start.

What is your favorite weather, and why? Summer--the hotter the better :-)

What time do you usually get up? Now that Bennett is needing a snack in the morning before heading to daycare, I am getting up around 5:45/5:50 in the morning. I get him up, fed, changed, and ready to head out the door with Daddy by 6:30 before I start getting myself ready for the day.

What is your most challenging goal right now? Accepting some big changes that are happening in my life.

If you could have a house–totally paid for, fully furnished–anywhere in the world, where would you want it to be? Someplace warm where ALL our family lived nearby!

Favorite vacation spot? Since I don't really vacation, I don't know that I have a favorite spot. I always love to go visit my sister and her family wherever they are at. I also loved the cruise we took to the Caribbean. I guess it would be anywhere I can relax, enjoy, and have fun with my family!

What is your favorite children’s book? That's a tought one! As a teacher and mother, I have read more than my share of children's books. I guess one of my favorites is the Rainbow Fish.

Name one thing you just can’t resist no matter how bad it is for you: Soda--having a tough time without that right now :-)

Have you ever met anyone famous? Yes! I was working one night and this woman comes into Marshall Field's and just starts loading up on cosmetics--we're talking hundreds of dollars and great commission! Come to find out, it was Stephanie Seymour a Victoria's Secret model who once dated the lead singer of Guns N' Roses. Of course, I had to ask for her autograph!

If you could have any job in the world , what would it be? Even though there are days when I BEG for a different job, there isn't anything else I can imagine myself doing besides teaching.

Who is the last person you talked to? A colleague.

What was the last thing you ate? Cinnamon and sugar doughnut holes.

My new questions--What did you do yesterday? I got up at 4 a.m., hopped in the car with a friend, and head 3 hours out of town to a teaching seminar. We were there for 6 hours, and then headed 3 hours back home. Because I hadn't eaten supper and wasn't really in the mood to make anything, I decided to swing by the meeting spot for our Ladies Night. I hung out and enjoy good company and great food until 7:30. Then, I drove as fast as I could to go pick up Bennett--I missed you, sweet pea!

Unfortunately, I have to break the second rule. Heather already tagged my two bloggie friends, so no pressure for anyone :-)

Me and My Truck

When my sister found out that a nephew was on the way, she warned me about how boring boys could be--all they did was play with trucks. She was correct--Bennett's favorite toy right now is the dump truck push toy that Santa brought him for Christmas. He pushes it around everywhere! He has also learned that his truck can hold things. What is he pushing around these days?
Right now, it's two of his measure cups, a Band-aid, a box with toothpaste in it, and his wooden stick from his musical instruments. He is also seen often pushing around his beloved basketball. So, boys aren't so bad--he is darn cute when he's pushing around that truck :-) I think Aunt Heather has changed her mind!

Naked Baby on the Loose!

I was getting Bennett changed this morning and applied his cream for chicken pox and his eczema cream. I went to go wash my hands and came back to find that he had crawled away to play in nothing by his diaper! He's too sweet!
