Thumb War

I think we have lost the thumb war with Bennett. We pull it out of his mouth for it to only go right back in--it's like it's spring-loaded. It's cute and infuriating all at the same
time :-) One day, when I picked him up from daycare, Ms. Kristina told me that not only did he have one thumb in his mouth--but BOTH of them!! I said to Ryan this morning, "I think were losing this battle." Ryan's response--"We already have."

Kind Kids

I have the sweetest students in class! Recently, two of them, completely out of the blue, made these beautiful pictures for Bennett! One has stenciled shapes and the other is a present with "B's" on it. They are so thoughtful! Bennett loves his pictures! Thanks, girls!

This is a good reminder of when Bennett needs his fingernails trimmed!

Bennett's Story

After his bath, Bennett loves to lay in his diaper and kick and talk. On Sunday, Aunt Kristin was visiting, and he had quite the story to share!

As Bennett nears his 3 month birthday, we decided to get his pictures taken. A student teacher at Ryan's school does photography on the side but had never done babies. So she asked if she could practice on Bennett. We, of course, said yes. So, she came on Saturday and spent about 2 hours snapping pictures of our sweet pea. These are some of my favorites!!

Daycare--Here I Come!

Today was Daddy's first day back at work, which meant it was Bennett's first day of daycare. He woke up in a great mood, so we decided to document this momentous and sad occassion :-( I got a little teary on the drive there. Ryan and I feel really good about where he's at, but when it came time to hand him over, I had a hard time. Tasha, one of the owners, was right there with the Kleenex, reassuring me that they would take good care of him. As I was leaving, another mom was dropping off her little one and said, "Oh, I remember those days." This gives me hope that it will get better! I'm in charge of dropping off tomorrow--hopefully it will be a little easier than today or will I always be this sad??
