Two Months Old!

Today, Landon turns 2 months old! I can't believe how fast the time has gone! He still is a little bit of a mystery to me. Somedays, he can be very content laying under the rainforest gym and days like yesterday and today, he wants to be held constantly. In the last month, he is starting to make more noises--squeaks, cooing, etc. The best thing that Landon is doing is smiling, with an occassional laugh! I finally caught a small smile on camera!

In the pictures for this month, his red hair is so obvious! At his appointment, he weighed 10 lbs. 5 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long--almost exactly the same as big brother Bennett at this age, which really surprised me. He seems so much fuller and longer than Bennett. Sadly, my time at home is coming to an end and Landon will be home with Daddy until after the holidays when he will begin daycare. Since I truly feel that Landon will be my last baby, I'm trying to enjoy every moment of my time with him and trying to pay close attention to all the changes that both boys go through. I'm so excited to see what happens in the next month! Happy 2 month birthday, love bug!!

My Angels

I may be biased as their mother, but I think my boys are the sweetest

little angels! Although there are times that it is difficult to remember this--like today when Bennett tried to bite my ankle and tells me "NO!" every time I ask him to do something or when poor Landon cries and screams for a better part of the day. But I have been blessed with two beautiful and wonderful children and I do my best to be the mom they deserve--some days and times it's a little easier than others, I will admit! No matter what, they are my precious sons and for that I am truly grateful!

Look What I Learned From My Cousins!

After spending a week with his cousins, Bennett has learned how to get his bear ready for a nap. Both Mattea and Paloma are so nurturing with their stuffed animals and dolls--and even with each other. They liked playing "Kim and Bennett" while they were here. Mattea would be me and Paloma was Bennett. So from observing all of that, watch how sweet my little man is with Teddy--wrapping him all up and cuddling him for nap time :-) Thanks for teaching this to Bennett, ladies!

Whose Blue Undies??

Too small for me. Bennett doesn't wear them. Landon's not even close. So who do these blue undies belong to?

Don't Be Scared!

I can't believe I'm actually posting this picture of myself--I must be crazy! A few days ago, I had a little work done on my nose. For those of you who don't know the story, I broke my nose twice (possibly 3 times) when I was a kid, compliments of two gymnastics accidents and roudy gym class game. When I was 14, I had surgery to fix my disaster of a nose. My doctor said it was the worst nose he's ever seen--gee, glad I won that award :-) Anyway, over the years, things have shifted, scar tissue has built up, and my nose just isn't quite right. So, I went in and endured the horrible novacaine shots--more than I could count. While wide awake, the doctor took some cartilidge from the left side and implanted it into the left side, hoping to make it appear more straight. As the burning of the novacaine is going into my nose, I wondered, "what am I doing to myself?" I had to remind myself that this is the last procedure I'm doing and I really wanted to have this done. I'm so looking forward to the results. I look much worse than I feel. I'm not in any pain--just a little sore and the tape is itching like crazy! I'm just really swollen. Unfortunately, I can't get the tape wet so I'm forced to take long, hot relaxing baths instead of showers--oh, darn! I go back on Thursday to have the tape removed but will remain swollen for a few weeks. Since I'm looking so lovely, I don't think I'll be going anywhere for the next week, which is a blessing and a way to make me stay home and rest before I head back to school from maternity leave. I promise to post some prettier pictures once the tape is removed!

30 Already???

I can hardly believe I turned the big three-oh last week! I don't feel 30 by any means. For my special day, my sister, nieces, husband and two sons threw me a surprise birthday party, complete with decorations, princess party hats (Thomas the Train for the boys!), and festive candles in my favorite dessert--cheeesecake!

I received hand-made card from both my nieces--truly precious! From my boys, I got a picture frame with a picture of the three of us and an angel pin. From my husband--that's yet to be determined. He says it's on it's way--more surprises to come :-)

But the best part of all was having all my family with me to celebrate this momentous day. Thanks everyone for making it so special!! I love you!

Quality Time With Family

I'm so glad my sister and her two girls were able to come home for a visit! I think Bennett is starting to understand that he has more family out there and I am so grateful for the time they got to share together! Here are a few of my favorite photos of Bennett with Mattea and Paloma!

Meet Your New Cousin

I haven't posted in a while because I've been mighty busy!! My sister and my nieces came home for a week-long visit and it was so wonderful to have them here!! Both of my nieces are so grown-up and it was fun to carry on full conversations with both of them. I was very excited to have them meet and spend time with both their cousins. Bennett had a blast because he is starting to understand who they are. Despite some difficulties with sharing his toys, I think he really enjoyed have his cousins around to play with. Landon enjoyed all the extra attention he got and loved being held all the time!!

Mattea with her baby cousin!

I love this picture! Landon is staring at Paloma and he has the sweetest look on his face!

Thanks for visiting us! We're so sad you're gone! We watched the plane take off, which Bennett loved! But when we got in the car and started to drive home, Bennett kept asking for "Loma and Tia." Hopefully we'll get together again in the not so distant future!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from my two little monkeys! Bennett and Landon were quite the pair all dressed up on Saturday! We purchased Landon's costume before he was even born and based on our experience with Bennett, we assumed that the newborn size would be fine. But he's growing like a weed and he just barely fit! And poor Bennett didn't want to put his costume on at all--it was such a fight. But once he was dressed, he was fine.
Our first stop was to Grandma and Grandpa T's. Bennett helped himself to the M & M dish and enjoy a Hershey's bar . . .
which he so nicely shared with Grandpa!

After watching Grandma hand out candy to a few trick-or-treaters, Bennett wanted to get in on the action. He would go to the door with Grandma and even helped give candy to the kids.

Waiting patiently for more trick-or-treaters to come!

How cute are they??!!

Pumpkin Carving

Last week, Bennett's class cleaned out their pumpkin. His teacher told us that we wanted nothing to do with it. I was kind of surprised by that and figured things would be fine once we did ours as a family--I was wrong. It all began when Ryan tried to take his sweater off so he wouldn't get as messy. Bennett started throwing a fit and wanted his sweater back on. Then, when we tried to get him to help, he kept telling us "no" and stood off to the side and watched. For a good part of the time, he stood against the cupboard with his hands behind his back and watched. Ryan says I traumatized him last year by putting him in the pile of goo. As you can see, Landon wasn't real impressed with the whole process, either. Maybe we'll have better luck next year.
