So Long, Farewell

This is my least favorite part of my sister's visits--having to say goodbye. Mattea gives Bennett one last hug before packing up and heading out. They will continue their travels home tomorrow. We hope and pray that all will go smoothly and you get home safely. No more run-ins with the law before you get there! We had a BLAST while you were here, and we miss you already!! But I didn't cry this time :-) Are you sure you don't want to live closer????

Me and My Cousins

Today, we all spent some time at the park. My niece Mattea is 3 1/2 and Paloma is 1 1/2. They are growing way too fast! Mattea is such a sweet little girl and loves to watch out for everyone. Paloma, who has grown by leaps and bounds, is walking and saying the cutest things! I miss having them around, but thanks to my sister's blog, I get to stay involved with how they are doing. I think Bennett is such a lucky boy to have such wonderful cousins! We love you, girls!

Welcome Back!

I was so excited that my sister, her husband, and my nieces came home again this summer!

They were just here in February (Dave couldn't make it) but I have loved spending time with them again. I wish they lived closer so we could hang out more, but I will certainly cherish the visits we do have. We have had so much fun hanging out and catching up--late nights included. Thanks for coming--come back anytime!!!

Family Vacation -- Part 2

After the zoo, we headed to our hotel with an indoor water park. Bennett was loving the water and splashing! We spent about an hour in the pool.

First Family Vacation -- Part 1

So as the summer is quickly coming to an end, I got the idea last week that we needed to take a short vacation before heading back to school. Our first stop was the zoo--a great suggestion I got from Merranda's blog. Bennett was very interested in all the animals! He was touching the tiger skull, pretending to be a polar bear, and was very excited about the capybara! We didn't get a good picture, but he was pounding on the glass of the tarantula display--hmm . . . not sure where he gets his interest in spides--definitely NOT from mom!

Tooth Number Two!

Bennett and I were outside playing today. I asked him how his tooth was doing and opened his mouth for a look--can you imagine my surprise when I found tooth number two popping out!! That is two teeth in ten days!

7 Months Old!

I can hardly believe my baby is 7 months old today! When I look at him, I see that he's grown, but when I look at pictures, I realize how much he's changed!!! He is such a smiley, happy boy--rolling everywhere and getting into everything!

Fun in the Sun!

In an attempt to forget that summer is coming to an end and school will be starting WAY too soon, we headed to the beach to enjoy the water. Bennett had fun swimming in the water and playing in the sand--he even tried to mouthful to see how it tasted! It was a beautiful day, and we had great time!

I snapped this picture the other night. In an attempt to break the thumb-sucking habit, our doctor suggested trying to get Bennett attatched to something else. So, we've been giving him stuffed animals at night. Before I went to bed, I went in to check on him and found him giving Teddy a big ol' hug!

First Tooth!

It finally happened!! Bennett broke his first tooth! I've been saying for the last four months that it's coming (shows you how much I know!). I attempted to take a picture, but he kept sticking his tongue out :-) I'll get one as soon as he lets me!
