Pumpkin Patch

It FINALLY stopped raining long enough for the sun to shine on Saturday morning, which meant we hopped in the car and headed to a local apple orchard to pick out some pumpkins. Even though Landon really couldn't experience his first trip, he could at least look festive while hanging out in his car seat.

The anticipation was too much for Bennett to handle--he was fast asleep when we arrived! Because of all the rain, we decided not to walk through the muddy pumpkin patch to choose our prizes. Instead, we looked through the already picked pumpkins to make our selection. Bennett was so overwhelmed at first that all he could do was walk around and say "punkin!" Ryan and I picked out our favorites and tried to let Bennett pick his own, but he couldn't seem to make a decision, so we had to choose one for him!

Next, we headed inside to choose some apples to take home. Bennett didn't want to taste test any of them but loved looking in the crates.

Then, we went back outside to hang out with the animals. We saw ducks, goats, sheep, and pigs.

We HAD to stop to look at the tractor and take a pretend drive in it. Last week, Bennett's daycare teacher told me that she was surprised that he knew all his flashcards--even the tractor. If she could only see this, she'd understand why :-)

Bennett then had the chance to ride a tractor that was just his size.

Here's Landon with all our picks from the day! He was definitely the cutest pumpkin in the patch and even if he wasn't mine, I'd pick him and take him home!

One Month Old!

Since Landon came home, life has been crazy and chaotic and Ryan and I are trying to adjust to having two little munchkins to take care of. We’re learning :-) I’m still trying to figure Landon out. I have a feeling he’ll be a quiet boy. Right now, we’re all pretty tired as he has a difficult time sleeping at night and he cries a lot. He eats about every three hours and takes about 3-4 ounces, sometimes more. I took him in on Friday, Oct. 16th and he was already up to 8 lbs. 8 oz.! Good boy!! I think you look a lot like big brother did when he was a baby. Ryan and I think he may end up being a red-head as he has a lot of red in his hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. Sometimes he likes the swing—sometimes he doesn’t. Sometimes he likes the gym—sometimes not. Sometimes he sleeps a lot during the day—other times, he's awake. I’m so interested to see how he will develop and change over the next month. Maybe then I’ll have a better idea of what kind of person he might become. Or maybe he’ll continue to keep me guessing!! Bennett is doing okay with him around. He gives Landon lots of kisses and hugs—although he has been seen pulling him by the waist and trying to play with him, but that will just make him a tough boy! He does have tantrums a lot in an attempt to get more attention--that’s normal but frustrating and exhausting to listen to. When I look at Landon, I’m amazed at how much I love him and how sweet he is! I’m excited to have him here and look forward to getting to know him better. Happy one month birthday!!!

My Turkey!

I love these jammies sent to us by Aunt Heather! Bennett is definitely my little turkey and I call him that frequently :-) Thanks, H!

A Day To Celebrate!

With Landon being our second born, he did not have any baby showers thrown in his honor before he arrived. So, to celebrate his arrival, we decided to throw him his own special party. We had an open house where friends and family stopped by to welcome, meet, and hold our new baby boy. Unfortunately, he slept most of the time and missed his whole party, but thank goodness for a few pictures to remind him of the occassion!
This is the cake mommy had made for you and the adorable ducky flower arrangement is from Grandma and Grandpa T.

The boys and I take a few moments to get some pictures before our guests arrived!

We would like to thank our friends and family who were able to join us for this special day of celebration and to thank everyone for their generosity and gifts they gave Landon and our family. All the gift cards will be put to good use purchasing diapers for both boys! The money we received will go into Landon's bank account as we begin to save for his college fund. We love all of you! Thank you for making it a special day!

Bennett watches and waves as the last of our guests drive away.

Once everyone was gone, Daddy took Bennett outside to play in the leaves that fell off the tree today--which is almost completely bare. It certainly looks and feels like fall!

Precious!

My New Toy

Just recently, Bennett has become very attached to playing with the thermometer. Ryan said the other day Bennett was taking his own temperature by sticking it up his pant leg. Tonight, he was putting it on his forehead and sticking it under his shirt by his belly button. Maybe Aunt Heather, a nurse, can clear up the confusion of where the thermometer goes when she comes to visit!

Where's Bennett?

Can you find Bennett buried beneath all of his naptime buddies? There's Teddy, Bear, Boo Boo,
Buscuit, and two blankets. The funny part is that Bennett know when one of them is missing!

Bath Time!

Landon seems to enjoy bath time. During his first bath, he didn't cry at all. He laid in the water and looked around. He didn't mind the water that trickled into his eyes. I enjoyed the quiet time we spent together while Bennett was fast asleep. Crazy how quickly you forget how difficult it is to bathe a newborn--they are wet and slippery--definitely a two-person job!

More Brotherly Love

My boys are getting along really well--too well. Bennett has already shared his pink eye with baby brother! I think he's passed along his cold, too.

Right now, Bennett is suffering from a rotten double ear infection and we think that's why he's been so upset, throwing tantrums, waking up at night. Hopefully once that clears, we'll get our sweet little boy back. We noticed a HUGE difference after only one dose of anitbiotics.

Is this how it is with more than one child at home?? Do all the germs spread from one to the other????
